A teenage boy drowned in the river Shitlakkhya in Bandar upazila of Narayanganj yesterday. Saiful Islam Shimanto, 14, son of Nayeem Mia, was a class VIII student of BM Union High School. He along with his friends was bathing in the river, said one of his uncles Kajol.

Mayor Ivy threatens to quit if administration does not cooperate
“The administration officers are not cooperating with the city corporation. I will quit if I cannot serve the people of Narayanganj. HC grants time for probe into Shyamal Kanti’s assault
The High Court has granted two more weeks for submission of the judicial probe report on the public assault and humiliation of school headmaster Shyamal Kanti Bhakta in Narayanganj. The High Court bench of Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice JBM Hassan issued the order yesterday after hearing a time petition filed by the government.
