Shujan: NCC polls fair, impartial
Shushanar Janniya Nagorik (Shujan) Secretary Prof Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar said yesterday Narayanganj City Corporation polls held on December 22, 2016, were successful, fair and impartial.
He came up with the statement at a press briefing in Narayanganj press club in the afternoon.
Among others, the district unit Shujan president Abdur Rahman and its secretary Dhiman Saha Jwel spoke on the occasion.
They also said maximum Ward councilors who were elected in the polls were businessmen and accused in several cases.
Most of them did not have bachelor degree or higher education.
There are 37 persons including mayor, who were elected in the polls. Of them, 29 did not pass SSC, 35 accused in several cases and 26 are businessmen. Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy is a physician.
Only three ward councillors have bachelor degree.
